This is supposed to be a very busy world. To me, it means that readers should favor short, or even short-short fiction. On the contrary, readers seem to buy longer and longer fiction. I am not sure what causes this phenomenon, or else I think I can guess at the cause. Some big name commercial publishers seem to have decided that they wanted to publish mostly behemoth books.
